Suppose the reader or MP Ed Fast or Abbotsford\u2019s politicians found themselves having heart palpitations [fluttering]. Having consulted the family doctor the individual is sent to the hospital for further tests and then is called back to the hospital for further testing.<\/p>\n

Reviewing the test results with the family doctor they are told that the tests reveal they have an irregular heartbeat. This irregular heartbeat will lead to their premature deaths if their condition is not treated.<\/p>\n

The doctor then proceeds to explain that there is something called a pacemaker that research and experience has shown to be effective in regulating heartbeats thus keeping the individual alive and able to continue to live as they normally would.<\/p>\n

However the doctor informs the patient that not only will they not be scheduling surgery in the near future, it will be several years before any surgery is scheduled.<\/p>\n

The delay is a result of the need to develop a \u2018made in Abbotsford\u2019 approach since the fact that pacemakers are successfully used everywhere else in the world does not mean they will work in Abbotsford.<\/p>\n

They will be hiring someone to coordinate matters to ensure everyone is on the same page. They will also hire an assistant for the coordinator to study the resources available so those developing the made in Abbotsford approach to irregular heartbeats can be referred to the appropriate resources. There won\u2019t be a problem with not having a needed resource because it is known for sure that additional resources are not needed\u00a0 in Abbotsford..<\/p>\n

Hopefully \u2018made in Abbotsford\u2019 will be approved and ready in three years.<\/p>\n

Hopefully neither the years long delay or the \u2018made in Abbotsford\u2019 procedure will cause any of the patients to die. After all, it would be most unfortunate if any [or all] of them died unnaturally of natural causes [or natural cause unnaturally].<\/p>\n

Should the \u2018made in Abbotsford\u2019 approach not achieve effective results by the end of three years…….<\/p>\n

……. there is always the option of finally trying, when \u2018made in Abbotsford\u2019 has failed, the approach proven and used around the world.<\/p>\n

There was a memorial on Friday [June 19th<\/sup>, 2015] for a member of the homeless community who suffered a heart attack while visiting the homeless camp on Gladys. She was rushed to hospital where she later died, another casualty of our choice not to provide the supports and services shown to enable people to find wellness and regain their lives.<\/em><\/p>\n
